If you’re looking for an original way to decorate your walls, our fun, vibrant portraits bring life to your home. Immortalise the favourite photos of your kids, your wedding, a best friend, or perhaps a pet. Personal Art portraits also make perfect gifts for someone special – they are unique, affordable and fun!

Personal Art uses a skilled team of painters, illustrators, graphic- and digital artists. Each portrait is retouched by hand (we never use artificial, pre-made filters). Once approved, your pesonal-pop-art image is transferred on to a quality matt canvas which is hand-stretched over a wooden frame or on to paper.

Our Pop Art Styles

Our work is inspired by the big names in Pop Art - but also by newcomers and possible trendsetters. Last but not least, Personal Art's design lab have created some original portrait styles that are unique and new. Read on and get inspired!

Personal WARHOL

The classic Andy Warhol portraits remain the definitive images of the Pop Art movement. After nearly 50 years, they look as fresh today as ever. Our Warhol style portraits are extremely well executed but to see just how good they are, you really have to see them close up.

Personal WARHOL COLLAGE

Not well known, if you didn't actually visit the Andy Warhol museum in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but yet another piece of Warhol's grand oeuvre are his collages. The image on the left looks almost like the original, but it's our recreation of it. This style is great to make something special from all the snapshots you made with your mobile!

Personal PHOTOiPOD

We love the Ipod campaign. Our style is based on the more famous commercials and print advertising which feature dark silhouetted characters against bright-colored backgrounds. These silhouettes are usually dancing, and in television commercials are backed by up-beat music.

If you send us a picture, keep in mind that action pictures really do good for this style!

Personal SCANNER DARKLY

This style is inspired by the animation style that is used in the cult movie “A Scanner Darkly”. Every minute of A Scanner Darkly took animators over 500 hours of work to develop. No surprise to us!. These portraits are fantastic, but even for a very skilled illustrator the amount of work is painstaking.

Personal LICHTENSTEIN

One of the biggest names associated with Pop Art is Roy Lichtenstein.

In 1961 Lichtenstein began to experiment with elements from adverts and Comics-strips. In this period he developed the screens, dots, heavy contour lines and bright colours that he later became famous for. Exactely these are the elements we use in creating your Personal LICHTENSTEIN.

Personal BLACK&WHITE

Colorfull paintings not your thing? No problem. You're a trendsetter! Word is, Black & White will be the fashion statement of 2009.

The Personal Black & White style was introduced after we received quite a number of requests from clients. We love the effect it has on canvas. Also available in Sepia tone. A light blue or green can also look very interesting - as usual, we accept any special wishes you might have!

Personal PROPAGANDA

No matter how Mao was depicted, he had to be painted hong, guang, liang (光凉: red, bright, and shining); no grey was allowed for shading, and the use of black was interpreted as an indication that the artist harbored counter-revolutionary intentions.

So that is exactely how we appraoch Personal Propaganda paintings: Your face will be painted hong, guang, liang.

Personal DELFTWARE

There’s nothing “POP” about traditional Delftware! But we like he effect of Delftware, and in our opinion it actually does something nice on a white wall.

The technique: To get the real Delftware feeling, we only work with one color blue called Cobalt blue. Your portrait is brought down to essential lines only and merged into a traditional frame of Delftware motifs. Just select a background and your Personal DELFTWARE can be put up within 10 working days.

Personal BANKSY

One of the most famous, best selling, well known – yet unknown! - graffiti artists who uses stencils is Banksy.

Stencils are hand drawn or printed onto sheets before being cut out by hand and spraypainted all over the city to get a message across.

We don't go all the way here: first of all: we don't spaypaint your image all over the city (that would be good value for money though!). We don't cut the stencil by hand, and we don't deliver the painting as a concrete wall. But the rest is as authentic as it can get: check out our gallery and decide for yourself.

Personal INNOCENT 80s

Many people remember the 80's for events like "Who Shot JR?," "First Blood", "The Young Ones", the boycott of the 1980 Olympics, and the royal wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana.

Others recall tragedies such as the explosion of Challenger, Chernobyl, the Iran-Contra Scandal, or the death of Indira Ghandi as the defining moments of the decade. But for many of us, the 80s are also fondly remembered as a time of fun, freedom, and excess everything.

We have created an personal INNOCENT 80's range of retro portraits that bring back memories like Saturday Night Fever, but of which you don't have to be ashamed to put it on your wall.
